Recalibration

The old rhythms don’t just fall away

Each day requires training

Lists

Losses

Minor discomforts

A new world opens up in the space left

Still

Many tasks wait

How to split the bills

When to change the address

Do I actually want the edison lamp?

Should I buy a new knife?

Is there anyone left to beg from?

I’ve told the people around me

The ones on the other side of the country

Have no idea.

The people I don’t tell are the ones I care about the most.

They are the ones who care about me.
