Got some pictures from the Grand Canyon today and then a question. How's Spring Break there? I paused and thought, "Should I look deep inside and express some gracious sentiment, an object observed, a kindness received? Should I respond with snark? Should I acknowledge that I've been feeling a little sorry for my terribly privileged but not privileged enough self?"

I did a bit of all of the above, and as the conversation progressed, we discovered that my other lovely friend is sitting on the other side of town at this very instant, sipping tea from a flowered mug. Just like me.
